She Slapped an Elderly Security Guard Then the CEO Walked In

The Security Guard Everyone Ignored

It was a busy Monday morning at Anderson Global Technologies, one of the biggest corporate companies in New York. People came streaming into the building, one of the smartest in the city.

They chattered loudly and carried their coffee cups and laptops with them, while luxury cars queued up to the front door.

Standing at the front gate was 71-year-old security guard George Walker. He had spent nearly three decades working for the company.George was not an average security guard.

He knew most of the people who entered the building, and greeted every single one of them with a smile. He carefully checked everyone’s visitor’s pass, making sure that they followed company rules

Most people admired him for his ability to treat everyone equally, regardless of their status.
As he was doing his rounds on this particular morning, an expensive black sports car pulled up to the front gate The car’s driver stepped out

It was Jessica Morgan, a new regional director. She was famous for her sharp tongue and short temper. Jessica sauntered up to the front desk, only to have her request denied.

good morning, ma’am,” said George politely.
May I please see your company badge?
Jessica stopped dead in her tracks and glared furiously at George
“You don’t know who I am, do you? Sorry, ma’am,” said George calmly

Company rules state that everyone must show their employee ID.”
Some nearby employees overheard the exchange and grew concerned when they realized what was happening.
This is absurd!” snapped Jessica.
“Excuse me?

“I’m simply following company policy,” replied George.
Without warning, Jessica stormed up to George and slapped him across the face, causing the security guard to recoil in shock

She turned to the stunned onlookers and said, “This old man is finished
I’m going to see to it personally that he’s fired this very day.

Several employees were about to object, but they were afraid to cross a senior executive.
As luck would have it, another black car pulled up to the front gate the front door opened and out walked CEO Daniel Anderson.

As he walked towards the front gate, he noticed the strange commotion and fixed his gaze on George.
Daniel soon realized what was happening.

Seeing the look on the CEO’s face, Jessica turned around and walked towards the exit.
She was stopped by George.
“This is very wrong,” said the security guard.

“I don’t know what got into you, but hitting people is not the way to solve problems.”
“You’re finished,” said Jessica coldly

“I’ll make sure you’re fired by the end of the day.”
Meanwhile, Daniel reached George and placed a kind hand on his shoulder.
“What happened?” he asked

Before George could respond, Jessica quickly interjected.
“This guard was being very rude to me
He refused to let me enter the building.”

Daniel looked at George.
“I asked to see her employee ID,” said the security guard quietly.
Daniel turned around and looked at Jessica. You hit him?”
Jessica stammered nervously.
“I…it was just…”

“That’s enough,” said Daniel in a calm but firm voice
“Who gave you the authority to dismiss my Head of Security?”
The whole office fell silent

“What?” whispered Jessica Did you hear me?” Who gave you the authority to fire my Head of Security?” Jessica’s face turned pale. Head of what?

Daniel walked towards George and gently clasped his shoulder.
“This man has protected this company long before I became CEO
He has trained most of the security personnel here

Even when there was a crisis, he stood firm and made sure that this building remained safe.”
“I was just doing my job,” said George modestly
“That’s all I’ve ever done.

Daniel turned around and looked at everyone in the lobby.
“We can’t have rules if we’re not willing to follow them.”
“If you want our security personnel to protect us, then we have to respect them when they hold us accountable

Later that day, Daniel made sure that the security cameras were rolling when George politely asked Jessica to show her employee ID.
The cameras captured everything, including the slap thatJessica gave the poor old man.
After reviewing the footage, the Human Resource Department launched an investigation into Jessica’s conduct.
She was found to be guilty of the misconduct and was forced to apologize to George in front of the whole office.

“I’m sorry for misjudging you,” said Jessica sincerely
“I should have been more respectful… after all, you do have a job too.
George gave a polite smile.
“My dad always told me something interesting

Most people think that their uniform tells people what we do for a living
But it actually says what we are

Daniel launched an aggressive sensitivity awareness campaign a few weeks later, which educated employees on respectful workplace communication and behavior.

Not only that, but he ensured that every single employee, including the C-Suite executives, went through a crash course on proper etiquette and social skills.

In fact, the biggest change happened within the employees who took direction from the security guards.
They learned to greet them by name and thank them for their services.
George continued to work for another year before retiring

On his last day, all the employees turned up to wish him well and to thank him for his years of service.
Daniel presented him with a small plaque that read
“Respect is earned through character, and not through position.”
George looked at the crowd.

“You’ve all been wonderful to me,” he said.
“I’ve guarded this building for thirty years, but today
you’ve taught me that kindness is the best security system of all.”
As everyone clapped, George realized that he was retiring as a security guard, but on the best terms that he could imagine.

Lesson
Every employee deserves your respect, regardless of their position. After all, it is the people in the frontlines who protect, support, and serve us. We should stand by those who ensure that our jobs are safe, our homes are secure, and our lives are made better. Remember that true leadership begins with treating everyone with kindness and courtesy. And most importantly, never forget the lessons of those who have paved the way for you to become successful.
