The Biker Saw a Crying Girl Outside a Bar… Then Her Boyfriend Came Looking

Rain washed the downtown streets of Chicago as the clock struck 2 a.m.. Inside the bar called The Black Lantern, the crowd was having a great time.

But outside the bar, a young woman stood, trembling, as she tried to steady herself against the cold night air.

Sienna Hart had spent the last twenty minutes trying to talk herself into leaving. Her boyfriend Cameron Voss had just humiliated her in the bar, yelling at her in front of his friends.

He told her she was embarrassing him and that she wasn’t leaving without him. Sienna had barely gotten out the door when Cameron followed her. She ran.

Sienna didn’t know where she was going.

She didn’t know where to run.

That’s when the motorcycle pulled up beside the curb.

The man on the bike took off his helmet and stepped off the motorcycle. His name was Ryder Kane, and he was a heavily tattooed biker in his mid-thirties.

Sienna would have been afraid of the man, if the look in his eyes hadn’t softened when he saw her tears.

Sienna stumbled over the wet pavement as she tried to get away from the bar. Ryder caught her arm before she could face plant on the ground.

“Easy,” he said. “Are you hurt?”Sienna shook her head.

“Please,” she whispered. “Don’t let him find me.”

Ryder looked up toward the bar.

“Who?”

Sienna didn’t answer.

Ryder took off his leather jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. He didn’t ask for her number, or for money. He just stood there and waited.

After a few seconds, the door to the bar opened.

Three men stepped out, and then Sienna heard the voice she had been trying to escape for the last hour.SIENNA!” The man yelled.

Sienna instinctively moved behind Ryder as she heard her boyfriend’s voice.

“Move,” Cameron said. “She’s my girlfriend.”

Ryder looked at Sienna, then back at Cameron. Then why is she afraid of you?”

Cameron’s jaw tightened. “You don’t know anything about us.”

“You’re right,” Ryder said. “I know fear when I see it.”

Cameron took a step forward. “Stay out of this.”

Ryder didn’t move.

Sienna finally found her voice. “Ryder… he’s been following me for weeks.”

Cameron immediately started yelling that Sienna was lying. He said she was just mad because he took her car keys. But something in Sienna’s voice told Ryder that she wasn’t just scared of Cameron.

She looked genuinely terrified.

Cameron reached for Sienna. Ryder put a hand up and stopped him.

“Don’t touch her.”

Cameron shoved Ryder’s shoulder. The biker barely moved.

The street was suddenly deathly quiet as everyone stared at the two men.

“You should probably walk away,” Ryder said quietly.Cameron laughed. “You really think you’re some kind of hero?”No,” Ryder said. He looked at Sienna. “I’m just the guy telling you no.”

One of Cameron’s friends tried to step forward, but Mason Cruz, one of Ryder’s biker friends who had just walked out of the bar, stepped next to him.

“Three against two still isn’t going to make you right,” Mason said.

Cameron stopped. For a moment, no one said anything. Then Sienna whispered something that made Ryder’s blood run cold.

“He knows what happened to my father.”

Ryder looked at Sienna. “What are you talking about?”

Sienna looked up at Cameron. “My father didn’t die in an accident.

Cameron’s face twisted in anger. “Don’t start this.”

Ryder looked at Cameron. “You were there, weren’t you?”

Cameron said nothing.

Sienna wiped at her tears. “For two years, I’ve been trying to find out what really happened that night.”

Cameron’s arrogance seemed to drain out of him. Ryder suddenly understood why Sienna had been so afraid to leave Cameron.

The man knew something about her father’s death.

And he was using it against her.

“Tell me what he has,” Ryder said quietly to Sienna. She reached into her purse and pulled out a small flash drive.

“This,” she said.

Cameron’s eyes locked onto the flash drive. Ryder saw the look on his face and suddenly understood what it was he was so afraid of.

“What’s on there?” Ryder asked Sienna.

She looked up at Cameron. “It’s the security footage from my father’s company.”Cameron took a step forward. “Give it to me.”

Ryder put a hand up between them. “No.”

Cameron looked at Ryder like he was crazy. “You don’t understand what you’re getting into.”Maybe not,” Ryder said. He looked at Sienna. “But she does.”

Sienna looked at him, tears in her eyes. For the first time in a long time, she wasn’t alone.

Cameron eventually walked away, knowing he wasn’t going to get the flash drive from Sienna. But as he walked away, he looked back at her.

“You don’t know what that footage will show,” he said.

Sienna clutched the flash drive to her chest. “Maybe it’s time I found out.”Cameron and his friends disappeared into the rain. Sienna stood next to Ryder for a moment, then looked up at him.

“Why did you help me?” she asked.

Ryder looked out at the empty street. “Because someone should have.”

Sienna smiled through her tears. “You don’t even know me.”

“I know,” Ryder said. He looked at her. “You deserve to feel safe.”

Mason walked over to his motorcycle and gave the two lovebirds some privacy.Sienna looked at Ryder. “Can I ask you something?”

“Sure,” he said.

“Will you help me find out what happened to my father?”

Ryder looked at the flash drive in Sienna’s hand. Then he looked at her. “Yes.”

And for the first time that night, Sienna smiled.

Neither of them knew that the footage on that flash drive would lead to secrets that went all the way to the top.Because her father’s death wasn’t just some random accident.

It was only the beginning…

Lesson

Sometimes courage doesn’t mean fighting everyone who hurts you. Sometimes it means finally asking for help and refusing to stay silent.

Sienna had spent the last two years hurting in silence, but Cameron used her father’s death to manipulate her. Ryder reminded her that she didn’t have to stay silent and that asking for help didn’t make her weak.

When someone tries to isolate you, remember that asking for help is not a weakness. And sometimes, just sometimes, one person choosing to stand beside you can give you the courage to finally stand on your own.
